What is your king­dom? Where are you the ruler, king or queen?

We all have our king­dom where we are rulers, where we reign have king­ship and sov­er­eignty. But one man’s king­dom is dif­fer­ent to an­oth­ers and what kind of reign or mas­tery that is per­formed is also very dif­fer­ent. Let us ex­plore your king­ship.

The size of your king­dom
As a foe­tus, you can say your king­dom is within your mother. Af­ter birth when you are a tod­dler your king­dom is within your fam­ily or your home. As you grow and evolve you can be­come the king or queen of an ac­tiv­ity like sport or danc­ing or cer­tain sub­jects in school, you can also be­come the beauty queen or the king or queen of the street etc.

Every­body should ex­pe­ri­ence they are good at some­thing or in one area. When you start school you dis­cover that there are oth­ers that are smarter stronger or quicker than you. Teach­ers and par­ents should pay par­tic­u­lar at­ten­tion to help kids im­prove and mas­ter skills. They will be more ful­filled if you can make them feel they can take charge of their own growth. Par­ents fall into two ex­tremes; those that think fu­ture ac­tiv­i­ties are in­her­ited in the kid and will un­fold by it­self and the oth­ers de­cide them­selves and im­pose a cer­tain ac­tiv­ity on the child from an early age. I be­lieve the best is nei­ther, but some­thing in the mid­dle. You can be­come good at a lot of things if you give it enough en­ergy and time (Read How to be ca­pa­ble), but also you have cer­tain con­sti­tu­tional pre­dis­po­si­tions from your fam­ily and even from the make up of your soul.

At school your king­dom grows from the vil­lage to the cap­i­tal and out to the bor­ders of your coun­try. As you be­come grown up your king­dom can be the whole world.

You can look at life as con­cen­tric cir­cles; womb, home, gar­den, vil­lage, coun­try, world.
As you grow, evolve and mas­ter your cir­cle be­comes big­ger. Some of us will never leave the vil­lage oth­ers will travel the earth, be­come world fa­mous or study and work in dif­fer­ent coun­tries or shake the world wide web with their ac­tiv­i­ties.

Where is your cir­cle? Where are the peo­ple you re­late to, have as friends and work with?

De­gree of mas­tery
The dif­fer­ent cir­cles of your world will be mas­tered to dif­fer­ent de­grees. As you are able to visit the cap­i­tal but would not dare to drive a car there, you might feel you can drive all around your vil­lage with­out any wor­ries. If there are things in your home that make you feel in­se­cure, wor­ried or in­hibits you, it will pre­vent you from fully mas­ter the big­ger cir­cles. If you mas­ter the level of your coun­try your home will be a piece of cake. Peo­ple that are able to do great work on the level of their coun­try have a min­i­mum foun­da­tion in the in­ner cir­cles. You can mas­ter ba­sic skills, or you can dif­fer­en­ti­ate be­tween dif­fer­ent pos­si­ble so­lu­tions or even reach a level where you are in­no­v­a­tive and rep­re­sent cut­ting edge ac­tiv­ity, ask your self if you are just re­peat­ing what oth­ers do. If you se­lect be­tween dif­fer­ent pos­si­ble ways of do­ing things or if you are cre­ative and in­vent new ways or ideas that oth­ers can choose or copy.

De­gree of aware­ness
As so­ci­ety and cul­ture evolves new val­ues are de­vel­oped. In a tribal com­mu­nity there is much sim­i­lar­ity with a flock of an­i­mals in the way the hi­er­ar­chy makes the strongest and bravest the king. Here mus­cle and guts de­cide. The king can reach ruler ship of a city. If you are an ath­lete or hard worker with strong body and dis­ci­pline you have reached this level.

To reach the level of na­tions you need writ­ing. Writ­ing is then used to reg­u­late taxes, laws and re­li­gion. If you mas­ter a sub­ject, have an ed­u­ca­tion within a field, have com­pe­ten­sies within a field of knowl­edge you have reached this level. To reach the in­ter-na­tional level, you need mod­ern com­mu­ni­ca­tion. This will let you travel, surf the net, es­tab­lish your busi­ness or pub­lish and ex­change your knowl­edge.

To be­come aware on a global level, you need to tran­scend your self­ish­ness and be­come truly con­cerned about hu­man kind, an­i­mals, na­ture and the earth.

To be­come uni­ver­sal, you need to be able to recog­nise pat­terns, see how a few prin­ci­ples are be­hind all ar­eas of knowl­edge and any part of na­ture.

To be­come galac­tic, you need to be able to sense be­ings higher than the hu­man and aim at har­mon­is­ing the global com­mu­nity with all other in­hab­ited plan­ets in the galaxy.

Ask your­self at which step it be­came fan­tasy or sci-fi and go one step back to as­sess what prob­a­bly is your level of aware­ness, then ask your­self what it would take to take the next step.
